Granddad Manvell’s Cherished Holiday Butter Cookies

Yield: About 2 dozen small cookies

Ingredients:
¼ pound butter, at room temperature
⅓ cup sugar
1 each egg
½ teaspoon baking powder
1 ⅓ cups flour

Preparation:
Preheat oven to 425°

In a mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar using electric hand beater. Add egg, mix well. In a separate bowl, add ½ teaspoon. baking power to flour and mix well. Add flour mixture to butter and sugar mixture. Beat until mixed well. Using a cookie press, place cookies about 2 inches apart on the cookie sheet.

Bake until light golden brown. Do not overbake.

    Granddad used a cookie press to make these cookies, which is why I have never tried to make them, I have yet to find a cookie press that likes me!
    I remember Noreen, Lori, and I loved going to Granddad’s house during the holidays because we always knew there would be some of these cookies waiting for us. They are so good!
