Graham Cracker/Nut Brittle Treats
2 sticks butter, melted
1 cup light brown sugar, packed
1 package graham crackers
1 ½ cups pecans, chopped
Preheat oven to 375°
Line cookie sheet with aluminum foil, then line it with a layer of graham crackers.
Combine melted butter and brown sugar in saucepan. Stir over low heat until sugar is dissolved and mixture bubbles and becomes quite thick. (If it is not thick the pecans won’t stick to the cookies.)
Pour the mixture over the crackers in zigzag fashion, then spread with a wooden spatula. Sprinkle pecans over mixture.
Bake in the middle of the oven for 8 minutes.
Let cool, then lift foil and slide your hand under the foil to break crackers apart into individual pieces.
Walnuts can be substituted for pecans, if desired.
