Three Packet Pot Roast
1 packet (0.7 ounce) dry Italian salad dressing mix
1 packet ( 1 ounce) dry Ranch dressing mix
1 packet ( 0.75 ounce) dry brown gravy mix
1 cup cold water
1 boneless chuck roast, about 3 pounds
In a small bowl, empty all three seasoning packets and stir in 1 cup of cold water, mixing well.
Place the chuck roast in the crock pot and pour the seasonings mix over the meat.
Cover and cook on low, 6 – 8 hours.
I like to cut the chuck roast into large chunks before placing in the crock pot, but it is not necessary. I believe that the chunks allow the meat to cook faster and to absorb more of the seasonings.
Serve with mashed potatoes, cooked rice or egg noodles to take advantage of the delicious gravy this produces.
