Glazed Poppy Seed Bread

Serves: 12
Ingredients:
For the Bread:
3 cups flour
2 ⅓ cups sugar
1 ½ teaspoons salt
1 ½ teaspoons baking powder
3 each egg
1 ½ cups milk
1 ⅛ cups vegetable oil
1 ½ teaspoons poppy seeds
1 ½ teaspoons vanilla extract
1 ½ teaspoons almond extract
1 ½ teaspoons imitation butter flavor
Preparation:
Preheat oven to 325°
Grease and flour (or use sugar instead of flour) 3 small loaf pans or 2 large loaf pans, set aside.
Mix bread ingredients all together, pour into loaf pans, bake for approximately 45 minutes.
Cool loaves for 10 minutes while making glaze.
For the Glaze:
Ingredients:
¼ cup orange juice
¾ cup sugar
½ teaspoon vanilla extract
½ teaspoon almond extract
½ teaspoon imitation butter flavor
Preparation:
On stove top, over low heat, mix all glaze ingredients and stir constantly until sugar melts.
Immediately pour the glaze over the loaves while they are still hot and while they are still in the loaf pans. Let the loaves set for one hour before turning the loaves out of their pans.
Notes:
Carolyn brought one of these to our place for Christmas one year. I loved it so much I asked her for the recipe. It mixes up easily, and is absolutely delicious!
