Not for Eating: Playdough Recipe
Please don’t eat this, although it it not toxic, the recipe is for kids to play with – not eat.
1 cup flour
½ cup salt
1 Tablespoon Alum
1 cup water
¼ cup vegetable oil
Assorted food coloring*
In a large bowl, combine the flour, salt and alum. Stir in the water and vegetable oil until a ball begins to form. Remove the mixture from the bowl and separate into 3 or 4 smaller portions and add 2 or 3 drops of food coloring to each portion. Knead on a lightly floured board or counter until smooth.
*You can substitute a variety of unsweetened Kool Aid flavors for the food coloring. Kool Aid makes the playdough smell nice, too.
